David Font is a founding partner and director of Comte & Font – Legalsa. He leads the firm’s corporate/commercial, real estate, foreign investment and estate planning practices.
David’s professional practice focuses on administrative law specialized in government procurement, bids and concessions; infrastructure projects; banking and finance; commercial contracts; design, maintenance and modification of corporate structures, particularly for corporations facing shareholder disputes or complex litigation; mergers and acquisitions; direct foreign investment; real estate transactions and projects; tax law and estate planning; and maritime law.
His recent experience includes legal support for the incorporation and start-up of operations in Guatemala of multinational corporations, including one of the world’s leading infrastructure construction companies; local consultant and advisor for a major international arbitration dealing with infrastructure; structuring of loans granted by Guatemalan banks for disbursement and use abroad, with mixed guarantees based in several jurisdictions; and design of legal and tax strategies for major real estate developments.
David is a graduate of Universidad Rafael Landívar, and holds an MBA INCAE Business School, as well as certifications in Tax Law from the Guatemalan College of Public Auditors and in Maritime Law from Universidad Rafael Landívar.
